Datuk Ir. Abdul Nasser is the CEO of the Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS), overseeing electricity, gas, and renewable energy development. With over 30 years of experience, he pioneered Sabah’s Energy Roadmap and Masterplan 2040 (SE-RAMP2040), establishing the state’s first comprehensive energy masterplan and advancing sustainable power solutions.
He began his career as a power plant engineer in 1990 and has since held key leadership roles in Sabah’s energy sector, including serving as CEO of Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB) and CEO of Unit Tenaga Negeri Sabah (UTNS). Today, he drives Sabah’s Energy Transition agenda with a strong focus on renewable energy growth, blending deep technical expertise with strategic policy leadership.
A mechanical engineering graduate from the University of Nottingham and a registered Professional Engineer (BEM), he is known for his integrity, innovation, and passion for transforming Sabah’s energy future.
