En. Saiful Hakim bin Abdul Rahman has been in the utility and energy-related business for over 28 years. He started his career with TNB as a TNB scholar and served the distribution division for 17 years, which provided him with vast experience in the Distribution Network business. He then moved to the United Kingdom and worked with Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), one of the “Big Six” utilities in the UK based in
Glasgow.
During his time with SSE, he was involved in Business Planning, Regulatory Reporting and Compliance, Asset Management, and supporting grid connections for Renewable Energy under the Transmission business. He worked closely with OFGEM, the regulator for UK utilities, particularly in developing the Regulatory Reporting framework for the RIIO-T1 regulatory period. His interest and enthusiasm for Renewable Energy grew significantly during this time.
Later, he joined Landis+Gyr AG, a Swiss-based energy management company, where he was involved in developing energy management solutions such as smart metering and smart grid technologies.
En. Saiful Hakim obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Brighton, United Kingdom in 1993, and an MBA (Strategic Management) from Aston University, United Kingdom in 2011. During his MBA programme, he also attended Audencia Business School in Nantes, France for additional coursework.
